Acupuncture for Chronic Pain: Where the Evidence Stands

Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles at specific points to influence pain signaling and local blood flow. Patients sometimes ask why we offer it alongside more conventional chiropractic tools — the honest answer is that for certain kinds of chronic, muscular pain, it can be a useful addition to a broader plan.

When it tends to help

We're most likely to bring it in for muscular tension, chronic low-grade pain, or as a lower-impact option for patients who want to avoid more aggressive manual therapy for a period.

What a session feels like

Most patients describe a dull ache or mild pressure at the needle site rather than sharp pain. Sessions are typically quiet, low-key, and give your body time to settle.

Setting expectations

Like every tool we use, we reassess after a handful of sessions. If it's not moving the needle (so to speak) on your symptoms, we'll shift the plan rather than keep repeating something that isn't working for you.
