What it is
Focus Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) works on the same principle as radial shockwave — acoustic pressure waves stimulating a healing response in soft tissue — but concentrates the energy at a specific depth and point rather than dispersing it across a broader area.
What to expect
Similar to RSWT, you'll feel pulses at the treatment site, with intensity adjusted to your tolerance. Because the energy is more focused, it can reach deeper or smaller structures more precisely.
Who it's for
We tend to reach for focused shockwave when a complaint is localized to a specific, deeper point that radial shockwave's broader energy pattern isn't as well suited to address.
How it fits into your plan
As with RSWT, this is layered into a broader plan alongside exercise and, where relevant, adjustment — not used as a standalone fix.
