Custom orthotics aren't a default recommendation — they're for a specific subset of patients whose foot mechanics are contributing to pain further up the chain, whether that's the knees, hips, or low back.
What we look at
A proper assessment includes how you stand, how you walk, and where your foot loads unevenly. We're looking for patterns, not just complaints — sometimes the foot is the actual problem, and sometimes it's a symptom of something else entirely.
When they're worth it
If your gait assessment shows a clear mechanical issue that's driving symptoms elsewhere, custom orthotics can take pressure off the joints above. If it doesn't, we'll say so rather than sell you a pair that won't move the needle.
What to expect
Custom orthotics take a bit of time to break in. We'll check in on fit and comfort at your follow-up visits and adjust the plan if something's off.
